According to industry insiders, the film is set to begin production soon. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “After Heeramandi, there is keen anticipation for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Love and War. Apart from the out-of-the-box title, the casting of Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky has constantly kept the film in the news. The movie will finally go on floors from October 24 and that will mark the beginning of the first schedule.”

Love And War release date

As per a recent announcement, the release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic drama with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal has been postponed. The film will no longer be released in December 2025 but will be available in cinemas on March 20, 2026. This date falls during the biggest holiday stretch of the year as it will coincide with major festivals. The festivals falling in this stretch include Ramzan, Ram Navmi, and Gudi Padwa.

Earlier this year, Alia Bhatt took to social media and announced the release date of the film along with the star cast. The statement shared in the post read, “We bring you Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic saga ‘Love & War’. See you at the movies! Christmas 2025”. The film will mark Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with Bhansali, while Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are no strangers to the director’s work. Ranbir made his acting debut in Bhansali’s Saawariya (2007), alongside Sonam Kapoor, and Alia starred in the 2022 hit Gangubai Kathiawadi.
